recitation acts as a "lab" to the main survey art history lecture, arth 200, where the students are learning materials ranging what we nickname "caves to cathedrals." in these smaller classroom settings, we deep dive into more intese topics or art periods that's just not feasible in lecture. we also take time to read short articles, do iconographical analysis, practice using terminology, and prep for upcoming exams
some semesters i teach upwards of four recitations, along with other teaching and service duties, which means grading hundreds of hand-written exams, typed papers, hand-written journals, and managing hundreds of students' issues, grades, and educational needs
